When working with source control, there will inevitably be deleted items. The Visual Studio source control plug-in, Team Foundation Server (TFS), can show you these deleted items in the explorer window. However, if there are a large number of deleted items, showing them can be very distracting as you try to sift through valid items.

Hide deleted items

If you prefer, you can hide the deleted items. This is easily accomplished in the Visual Studio source control options. To access this option:
  1. Launch Visual Studio.
  2. Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  3. Expand the Source Control options, and then select Visual Studio Team Foundation Server.
  4. Clear the Show Deleted Items In The Source Control Explorer check box (as shown in Screenshot 1).
  5. Click OK.

Show deleted items

If, later, you want to show the deleted items, simply follow the steps above, selecting, instead of clearing, the check box.
