Create a Pink Neon Text Effect Using Styles

Sample Text Effect

Below, Screenshot 1 shows one sample of the effect we will achieve. More examples will be shown at the end of this article.

Add Text

  1. Create a new RGB Color image with a Black background.
  2. Press D on the keyboard to select the default colors.
  3. Press X on the keyboard to switch the foreground and background colors.
  4. Add 72pt white text.

Add Color Overlay Style

  1. Choose Layer Style | Color Overlay from the Layer menu.
  2. In the Color section:
    • Set the color to #FA98EA.
  3. Verify all other settings match Screenshot 2:

Add Stroke Style

  1. Select and enable the Stroke style.
  2. In the Structure section:
    • Set Size to 1px.
    • Select Inside from the Position drop-down list.
    • Select Lighten from the Blend Mode drop-down list.
    • Set Opacity to 81%.
    • Set Soften to 6px.
  3. In the Fill Type section:
    • Set the color to #FB92E9.
  4. Verify all other settings match Screenshot 3:
